BUHARI VOWS NOT TO SPARE ANY CORRUPT APC MEMBER
President Muhammadu Buhari has said that his government will
not spare any member of the All Progressives Congress as well as associates
found culpable of corruption.
The President, who is currently on a four-day visit to the
United States President, Barack Obama, said this during an interview with the
CNN anchor, Christiane Amanpour.
30 YEAR GRADUATE RAPES SICKLE CELL WOMAN
A graduate of the University of Lagos, Imonitie Ilen-Otuma,
has been arrested by the police for allegedly raping a 27-year-old woman in the
Lekki area of Lagos.

learnt that Imonitie, who studied Estate Management, had earlier been arrested
in May for raping a colleague, and had been freed when the victim’s family
agreed to withdraw the case.
MUSICIAN ARRESTED FOR DEFRAUDING PENSIONER OF N40M
A 35-year-old gospel musician, Olalekan Opaleye, has been
arrested by policemen attached to the X-Squad of the Lagos State Police Command
for allegedly obtaining the sum of N40m from a pensioner, Mr. Michael Shote,
under false pretences.
Shote, who retired from a telecommunication company in
London, and the suspect were said to have known each other two years ago, when
the former reportedly told him to quit driving and promised to sponsor his
musical career.

EX-CHAD DICTATOR ON TRIAL FOR ATROCITIES IN SENEGAL
Senegal prepared Monday to begin the trial of former Chadian
dictator Hissene Habre, 25 years after he fled there following an eight-year
bloodsoaked reign of terror at home.
Once dubbed “Africa’s Pinochet”, the 72-year-old has been in
custody in Senegal since his arrest in June 2013 at the home he shared in an
affluent suburb of Dakar with his wife and children.
2 DIE IN LAGOS SALLAH FIRE DISASTERS
Tragedy struck on Friday and Saturday in Lagos State after a
37-year-old man, Lekan Are, and a 15-year-old teenager, Olamilekan Eniola, were
killed in separate fire incidents in the state.
PUNCH Metro learnt that Are was
burnt to death in the toilet, where he was trapped, after fire engulfed a
three-storey building at Olushi, Lagos Island, while Eniola was killed in a
fire incident in the Ilasamaja, Oshodi-Isolo area of the state.
EMIR OF KANO SANUSI WEEPS AT GOVERNMENT HOUSE
The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Lamido Sanusi, on Saturday in Kano
wept at the Government House, while reflecting on life-after-death.
As beads of tears rolled down the cheeks of the Emir, he
reminded his subjects of the need to exhibit good character, honesty, good
compassion and transparency while dealing with their compatriots.
