Court Jails 30 Women For Prostitution
30 women have been sentenced to six weeks imprisonment for prostitution by the Ikeja magistrate’s court in Lagos, Premium Times. 
The women who were tried for prostitution and breach of peace by one Femi Alabi, were sentenced to six weeks imprisonment each with an option of 10,000 fine by the magistrate, O. Odusanya.

The names of the women sentenced are Chidinma Eke, Saki Godwin, Rebecca James, Princess Osu, Funmi Olayemi, Damilola Ibrahim, Blessing Emmanuel, Grace Nwaokoro, Anu Titus, Cynthian Ozumba, Gift James, Blessing Winwah, Bukola Taiwo, Patience Amos, Oyinda Adesewa, Funmilayo Ajayi, Damilola Abiodun and Modinat Bello.
Others are Glory Edet, Blessing Okafor, Tope Obatula, Shade Afolabi, Foluke Kolawole, Tosin Ajayi, Bisi Onanuga, Princess Isaac, Esther Akpan, Cythia Osas, Joy Osas, among others.
“You are hereby sentenced to six weeks imprisonment with an option of N10, 000 fine each,” the magistrate ruled.
During their arraignment today, the women pleaded guilty to the offence, attributing it to the handiwork of the devil. They were all reportedly arrested at Obalende, Lagos at about 2 a.m on  Saturday, September 5.
According to the prosecutor, the women had become public nuisance because of their conduct on the street.
“The accused were caught soliciting for clients, which is against the law of the state,” he said, adding that their offence contravened Sections 142 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
