OONI OF IFE, OBA SIJUADE IS DEAD



The Ooni of Ife, Alayeluwa Oba Okunade Sijuwade is dead. He died today in London at the age of 85.
Oba Sijuwade was the fifth Ooni of Ife. He climbed unto the throne on December 6, 1980. As the Ooni of Ife, he presided over the Ife territory, in the South West Nigeria but his influence went far and beyond.

HUSBAND CUTS OFF WIFE’S HAND OVER ADULTERY ALLEGATION



Man, identified as Jacob Nwachukwu from Abala in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State, has cut off his wife’s left hand over allegation of infidelity.
The man’s wife, Mrs Nwadiokeonu Nwachukwu, is now at a hospital in Aba, while her severed hand had been taken to her husband’s village at Abala for burial.

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a Coordinator for the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), which provides payments and scholarships to Niger Delta ex-militants.
The new Coordinator, retired Brigadier General P.T. Boroh, will double as the Special Advisor on the Niger Delta. He enters the position after it lay vacant for some months.

FATHER POISONS 41 DAY OLD BABY TO DIVORCE WIFE

A 41-day-old baby, Zainab Olajide, has died after she was allegedly poisoned by her father, Kazeem Olajide, in a desperate attempt to divorce his wife.
The incident happened at about 7am on Friday at Toluwalase Estate, Ijoko-Abule, in the Lemode area of Ogun State.

EL-RUFAI SUES NEWSPAPER OVER REPORT ON ALLEGED N90 BILLION ASSETS

The Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on Monday sued The Union newspaper, based in Lagos, for reporting that he declared assets worth N90billion before the Code of Conduct Bureau.
The governor, who personally filed the case at the state High Court, was accompanied by his deputy, Bala Bantex, his lawyers and top government officials.

75 YEAR OLD MAN SUE WIFE OVER STARVATION OF S*X

Mr Kayode Oguntuase, a 75-year-old man, on Monday approached an Ado-Ekiti Customary Court to dissolve his 26-year-old marriage on allegation of being starved of s*x.
Oguntuase told the court that his 53-year-old wife, Felicia, was also sleeping with other men. He also accused the wife of stubbornness, theft, threats to his life and lack of care for him, adding that she was also adamant to corrections.

PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS DROWN IN AKWA IBOM RIVER

Eight pupils, who were returning from a primary school in Ikot Abia-Enyie in the Nsit Atai Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, have perished in the Atang River.
