STUDENTS OF BENUE UNIVERSITY DUMP COLLEAGUE’S CORPSE AT VC’S OFFICE

Medical Students of the Benue State University, Makurdi, have deposited the coffin of their dead colleague at the office of the Vice-Chancellor in protest.

SUNDAY PUNCH gathered that the deceased, Idoko Nicholas Inalegwu, died in controversial circumstances after receiving the news of his withdrawal after spending 10 years in medical school.

A US–based lady on Instagram has accused popular musician and self-styled Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa, Enetimi Odon otherwise called Timaya, of rape.

The allegation was made on Thursday in a series of posts on Instagram.

The posts sent under the identity, ‘ExposingtherealTimaya,’ consisted of screenshots and audio recordings from previous conversations between the duo, and continued till Saturday.

A 23-year-old woman, who was arrested by men of the Rivers State Police Command, has confessed how he stole a five-year-old boy from his parents.

The suspect, Chisa Ejionwu, said she decided to steal the boy after she was told that her chances of having a baby were slim.

30 YEAR GRADUATE RAPES SICKLE CELL WOMAN

A graduate of the University of Lagos, Imonitie Ilen-Otuma, has been arrested by the police for allegedly raping a 27-year-old woman in the Lekki area of Lagos.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Imonitie, who studied Estate Management, had earlier been arrested in May for raping a colleague, and had been freed when the victim’s family agreed to withdraw the case.

MUSICIAN ARRESTED FOR DEFRAUDING PENSIONER OF N40M

A 35-year-old gospel musician, Olalekan Opaleye, has been arrested by policemen attached to the X-Squad of the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly obtaining the sum of N40m from a pensioner, Mr. Michael Shote, under false pretences.

Shote, who retired from a telecommunication company in London, and the suspect were said to have known each other two years ago, when the former reportedly told him to quit driving and promised to sponsor his musical career.
