Former
secretary to the federal government of Nigeria Alhaji Aminu Saleh found dead
today. Alhaji Saleh deceased this morning, according to some
reports.
Aminu Saleh was born in 1933. He is an indigene of Bauchi
state and has embraced various posts at both the state and the federal level.
He started his governing career joining the Katagum native
authority in 1949 and by 1957 he already was Katagum native authority
treasurer. He transferred to the federal level in 1962. He served during
Obasango’s regime in the 1970s.
He was federal permanent secretary in the Nigerian ministry
of defence until his voluntary retirement in 1984.
In the beginning of Sani Abacha’s rule he was appointed
federal finance minister and secretary to the government of the federation and
head of federal civil service.
He became the chairman of the National Qu’ranic Recitation
Committee in 2006.
Besides that he embraced numerous posts at Bauchi state
level.
Aminu Saleh was also known as the shareholder in various
Nigeria-based industries and the owner of Nigerian beverage known as “Brahma and Tandi Guarana“.
Aminu Saleh passed away on Wednesday at the age of 82
in Azare, Bauchi state.
Malam Isa Yuguda, former Governor of Bauchi state, has
described his death as a great loss to Nigeria.
