SOCIAL GATHERINGS BANNED IN KADUNA

The police in Kaduna State have banned social gatherings at recreation centres and parks during the Sallah celebration in the state.
The State Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Umar Shehu, on Thursday added that places for fun seekers such as Gamji Gate Amusement Park and Galaxy Park, among others, would be closed down.

The police boss said, “Praying on the Eid ground is a sign that the Ramadan has ended. After that, everybody must return home.
“We have banned social gatherings and all operators of social centers have been instructed to lock up the venues because of the present security situation in the country. Anybody who violates the order will be arrested.”
The CP also said strategies to checkmate activities of criminals in the state had been put in place.
“The command has deployed policemen, as well as undercover operatives, to man and monitor vulnerable points with a view to ensure tight security across the state,” he added.
The Emir of Zazzau, who is also the Chairman of the Kaduna State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Shehu Idris, has also canceled the traditional Durbar Festival that is usually staged after the Sallah prayers.
